BACKGROUND INFORMATION
In the decade of the 50s, specifically during the first months of 1955, Cooperative of Saving and Credit of Rincon begun to emerge. It's first organization meeting was held the 25 of February of 1955 directed by Mr. Jaime Caro Ramos, Agent of Cooperatives in the District of Aguadilla. A provisional Meeting of Directors was named integrated by the following people:
President; Mr. Isidro Ramos Noriega
Vice-president; Mrs Luz Echevarría de Moreno
Secretary; Mrs Crisol Nazario de Carrero
Treasurer; Mrs Gloria Brignoni de Ruiz
Vowel; Mr. Isabel Caro Arroyo
Vowel; Mrs Isabel R. García
Vowel; Mr. Julio Velazquez Luciano
They were responsible obtaining our first office near Farmacia Nueva, Comercio Street. On 18 of March of 1955 our cooperative had twenty-six (26) partners and one capital that ascended to $80.50. There was celebrated our first Partners Assembly.
For the 19 of August of 1955 we had ninety and nine (99) partners already and the capital ascended to $784.75. In the fourth Assembly of Partners celebrated in the month of November of 1956 the borrowing norms were implemented and in November of that same year the COOPERATIVE OF SAVING AND CREDIT OF RINCON got up itself officially.
At present we own a solid economic situation, occupying the second place in assets between the Cooperatives of Saving and Credit of Puerto Rico, according to the Corporation for the Supervision and Insurances of Cooperatives (COSSEC).
We count with more than seventeen thousand partners (17,000) and more than six thousand (6,000) nonpartners. Thanks to the faithful and excellent sponsorship that everbody offer us, with a dedicated voluntary work party and to an efficient professional group, we have fulfilled the aims and intentions that drove the organization of our Cooperative more than half century.
It's right to recognize the work realised by each President during the years of existence of this Cooperative: Isidro Branches Noriega (QPD), Héctor M. Sánchez Correa (QPD), Brown Gilberto Rodriguez (QPD), Miguel Bonet Muñiz, Carlos Bonet Musri (QPD), Joaquin Caro Vargas (QPD), Angel L. Cardona Moreno, Julio Velazquez Luciano (QPD), German Moreno Lorenzo, Woodrow Diaz Jiménez, Iván Perez Moreno, Jose D. Rivera Moreno, Tomas Bonilla Feliciano (QPD), Jose Brignoni Acevedo, Jose A. Vega Ruiz, Liborio Perez Muñiz and our present president Roberto Feliciano Rosado.
